Application overview

Source-labeled psilocybin and psilocin literature for search, monitoring, export, and citation workflows.

How the research index is built

Eight research sources feed Psilocybin-Research.com PubMed, OpenAlex, Crossref, Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov, PsyArXiv, bioRxiv, and medRxiv provide records that are reconciled into the central research index. psilocybin-research.com PubMed OpenAlex Crossref Europe PMC ClinicalTrials.gov PsyArXiv bioRxiv medRxiv
Source records are fetched, reconciled, and labeled before appearing in the live index. The original sources remain authoritative.

Research workflow

Search, filter, export, analyze, and monitor publications with source labels, publication status, citation links, alerts, API access, and a rights-safe SQLite download. Read about the methods and limitations. Explore the dataset and reuse guide or research trends by year.

Topics and compounds

Topic labels are derived screening aids; their presence is not a clinical diagnosis or verified study design. Substance filters preserve the distinction between psilocybin and psilocin.

Selected reports and research timelines

The evidence guides select randomized primary reports for depression and both controlled and preliminary reports for alcohol use disorder. Selection prioritises an interpretable research question, design and endpoint; it is not a citation-count ranking.

Depression

  1. Carhart-Harris et al. · 2021 — Primary endpoint not met
  2. Davis et al. · 2021 — Positive waiting-list comparison
  3. Goodwin et al. · COMP001 · 2022 — 25 mg primary comparison significant
  4. Raison et al. · 2023 — Primary endpoint met
  5. von Rotz et al. · 2023 — Primary outcomes favored psilocybin
  6. Mertens et al. · EPISODE · 2026 — Primary endpoint not met
  7. Rucker et al. · NHS feasibility trial · 2026 — Feasibility study
  8. Yngwe et al. · Stockholm trial · 2026 — Primary endpoint met

Alcohol use disorder

  1. Bogenschutz et al. · 2015 pilot — Preliminary uncontrolled finding
  2. Bogenschutz et al. · 2022 — Primary endpoint favored psilocybin
  3. Swiss relapse-prevention trial · 2025 — Primary comparisons inconclusive

Use the publication timeline layout for citation context and the registry pipeline for study milestones.

Read outcome measures correctly

MADRS

The Montgomery–Åsberg Depression Rating Scale assesses depressive symptom severity. Several selected reports use it, but day 8, week 3 and day 43 endpoints are different assessments. Compare the prespecified time and population, not just the numerical difference.

Reports and original sources

HAMD and GRID-HAMD

Hamilton depression ratings appear in EPIsoDE and the Davis report. EPIsoDE prespecified a response endpoint; the waiting-list study used a different comparison. A response proportion is not a mean symptom-score difference.

Design and interpretation

QIDS-SR

The escitalopram comparison used change in self-reported depression symptoms at week 6 as its primary endpoint. That comparison was not significant. Results from other scales or secondary outcomes do not replace its primary test.

Source-linked comparison

Heavy drinking days and abstinence

The 2022 alcohol trial assessed percentage of heavy drinking days over 32 weeks; the 2025 relapse-prevention report assessed abstinence and consumption after recent withdrawal treatment. These endpoints, populations and treatment programmes differ.

Original reports and correction

These are reading notes, not reproduced instrument questionnaires or instructions for clinical scoring.

Guidance, training and research centres

Read sources in their original context. Guidance for clinical investigations, professional education and clinical authorisation have different purposes.

Clinical investigation guidance

FDA provides guidance on the design of psychedelic clinical investigations. Check the current document and distinguish regulatory guidance from trial results.
